Born in Chicago, USA, Kasia studied music and philosophy at the University of Illinois at Chicago, with documentary and portraiture photography always a constant in her background. In January of 2021, she set off to travel throughout Europe and found a home in Warsaw, Poland. As a practicing freelance photographer, she is interested in quietly observing and depicting the dynamic range of family, community and the individual- including animals- in relation to their environment- from preserving life in the act of living and capturing serendipitous moments, to exercising existence’s potential, to exploring questions of identity, memory and the often-tragic irony that is both human and animal condition with an unwavering sense of sentimentality.
